Maribor (Slovenia)
Initial SituationThe Slovenian City of Maribor fights against heavily declining passenger numbers: while in 2006 a total number of 225.000 tickets were still sold, in 2007 the number was only 180.000. The introduction of public transport to the highly frequented industrial zone - Tezno - with a high percentage of young employees was constructed.
MeasuresThe implementation of measures was mainly concentrated on the industrial zone of Tezno. There, it was especially important to strengthen the awareness for public transport and to address the young target audience (e.g. by public transport internet bulletin boards, public transport hotlines).
